Going to a 1950's themed elegant banquet. I have long hair. Any hairstyle ideas?

I know the 50s were mostly into the short hair and pin curlers, but I have about mid-back length hair. I'm wearing a semi-elegant dress and I need an era suitable hairstyle to match it. If you have any ideas that would be awesome. Pictures to match would also be appreciated so I can take them to my hairstylist.
