Whats some good freeware to upgrade my computer with?

first off i'm not very computer savy. i get the basics and then a fair to good amount more. so i have windows 7 on pc and use a lenovo. so far my only upgrade is asio driver but its giving me problems. do you have any freeware you can suggest for audio, graphics, and all around better performance? again i'm ok with computers so nothing too hard to install / download. also maybe you could tell me why asio will not allow me to play a youtube song while making music in fl studios. thanks and links appreciated.
